Who is rapper French Montana?
On November 9, 1984, French Montana was born as Karim Kharbouch in Casablanca, Morocco.
When he was 13 years old he moved with his family to the United States and they settled in South Bronx, New York.
He survived being shot in the head by a friend at a recording studio at 133rd Street and Third Avenue in the Bronx.
When he came to the States he could only speak French which led to the rapper's stage name
and Montana being a nod to drug-cartel boss Tony Montana in Scarface.
His journey to fame began in 2007 after he released his first mixtape in 2007 and
the rapper's breakthrough came in 2010 with his single Choppa Choppa Down.
Three years later, French Montana released her debut studio album,
Excuse My French, but it was French Montana's second studio album,
Jungle Rules, that peaked at number three on the Billboard 200.
French had a highly publicized romance with Khloe Kardashian after she split with
her then-husband Lamar Odom in 2014, but the pair split after eight months of dating.
