Henry Cavill won’t return to The Witcher despite losing Superman role

Despite being fired from his job as Superman following a shake-up at Warner Bros.,

Henry Cavill will not be reprising his role as Geralt of Rivia in the Netflix series The Witcher.

Cavill performed the character of Geralt for three seasons, but he announced that he will be departing

the Netflix series in October. Liam Hemsworth, an Australian actor, will take over as the series' star.

Soon later, Cavill declared that he will play Superman once more in the DC Universe

produced by Warner Bros. It was widely believed that he had quit The Witcher to devote

himself to a hero training regimen, a position he has played since the 2013 movie Man of Steel.

But on Wednesday, it was reported that Cavill has been fired from the part,

just a few weeks after making his comeback official. James Gunn, a director and

writer who joined DC Studios as co-chairman with Peter Safran,
