Peacock said Friday, ten years after beginning a fan movement to eliminate Meta, the fan-favorite comedy with a film, as referenced in a Season 2 episode of the program.
Original series creator Dan Harmon will appear in the film along with former cast members Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Jim Rash and Ken Jeong.
McHale and Andrew Guest will also serve as executive producers. Peacock is also buying an entire library of community episodes for its streaming service.
According to Susan Rovner, Chairman, Entertainment Content, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, "Six Seasons Plus began as a cheeky phrase from the movie community's early season
And rapidly ignited a passionate fan movement for this iconic, hilarious and cool (cool, cool) NBC sitcom."
We're so grateful that, 15 years later, we can finally give fans the movie they were promised,
And we can't wait to start working with Dan Harmon, Andrew Guest, Joel McHale, our partners at Sony and UTV. This epic comedy for Peacock audience.
